I wouldn't consider myself sentimental, except when it comes to flowers. My first flower frame I made was from flowers collected and pressed during a road trip with my brother. I put those in a frame once they were dry and they are now hanging in my grandmother's house. That little cabin-y home in Knoxville, TN now has little pieces of Arizona and Colorado. Every time I visit, I remember that trip, and I smile.

Since then, I have grown to love the delicacy of pressing these sweet blooms and making art with them. There's just something about having the physical flower that's more precious than a photo.

There are endless reasons to get flowers (weddings, baby showers, Mondays, Tuesdays...you get it). Any excuse is a good one on my opinion. I love the memories surrounding them and the fact that we get them simply because they're beautiful. There is no function once they're cut, other than to enjoy their beauty. I think we could all use the reminder that a thing doesn't have to be "productive" to be enjoyed.
